CALL FOR ABSTRACTS – SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

PARTICIPANT CATEGORIES & PRESENTATION TYPES

1. Undergraduate Category:
Oral Presentation
Poster Presentation

2. General Category (Professional/Postgraduate):
Onsite Oral Presentation
Online Presentation

GENERAL INFORMATION

1. Presenters must prepare an abstract NOT exceeding 250 words.
2. Submission deadline: 10 January 2026. Notification of acceptance by 15 January 2026.
3. Presenters must select their category and presentation type. 4. For MAHSA DDS Undergraduate participants:
• Allocation for poster/oral is based on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Groups submitting earlier will be prioritised for oral/poster slots based on availability.

ABSTRACT CONTENT GUIDELINES

Your abstract must include:
1. Title, authors’ names, and affiliations.
2. No tables or figures.
3. Up to 6 keywords.

ABSTRACT FORMATTING REQUIREMENTS TYPES

1. File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx).
2. Word Count: Maximum 250 words (excess words will be truncated).
3. Font: Times New Roman.
4. Title:
• Maximum 20 words
• UPPERCASE, bold, size 12
5. Authors’ Names & Affiliations:
• Include all authors, including supervisors/co-supervisors
• Font size 10, bold, italic
6. Abstract Body:
• Maximum 250 words
• Structured sections: Introduction, Materials & Methods, Results, Conclusion
• Font size 11, spacing 1.5
7. Keywords: Up to 6 keywords
8. Template: Presenters must use the official MI-DENT 2026 abstract template provided.
9. All abstracts must be submitted using the following file name format:

SUBMISSION PROCESS

1. Download and use the official MI-DENT 2026 abstract template.
2. Complete Google Form: Click Here
3. Enter presenter(s) and co-author(s) details accurately.
4. Ensure all affiliations are correct.
5. Upload abstract in Word doc. format.

PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

ORAL PREPARATION GUIDELINES

1. The main title of the presentation should be the same as mentioned in the originally submitted abstract.
2. The presentation must be prepared in Microsoft PowerPoint.
3. Use high-contrast colours for better visibility (e.g., light text on dark background or vice versa).
4. Ensure any animated images, animations, or embedded videos function properly (if any).
5. When adding images, tables, or figures, use Copy-Paste rather than embedding documents.
6. Do not include your supervisor's name in the presentation. (For MAHSA Undergraduate category).
7. Save your presentation on a USB memory stick and keep a backup.
8. Name your presentation file according to the number assigned in the oral presentation timetable. Example: “B3 Surface Degradation of Composite Resins”

ORAL PREPARATION GUIDELINES

1. Presentation Duration:
Presenters have eight (8) minutes for their presentation, followed by three (3) minutes for a
Q&A session with the judges.

2. Timing System (Bell Indicators):
First bell: Rings at the 5-minutes mark to indicate progress.
Second bell: Rings at the 8-minutes mark to signal the end of the presentation.
Third bell: Rings at the 11-minutes mark to conclude the Q&A session.


POSTER PREPARATION GUIDELINES

1. The main title of the presentation should be the same as mentioned in the originally submitted abstract.
2. Posters must be in portrait orientation and size A1 (594 x 841 mm or 33.1 × 23.4 inches).
3. The poster content must be in English.
4. The presentation should cover the key material outlined in the accepted abstract.
5. 5. At the top of the poster, include the paper title, the authors' names, and their affiliations. The presenting author's name should be underlined.
6. Ensure all diagrams, text, and formatting are neat and readable.
7. Organize the poster to make it self-explanatory, with flexibility for figures, tables, text, and photographs.
8. Posters must be clear and easy to read.
9. Do not include your supervisor's nameon the poster (For MAHSA Undergraduate category).
10. Print the poster in size A1and display it on the board at Level 9 (Humanity Building) the day before the event. 11. Presenters must arrive at the poster exhibit area at least 15 minutes before their scheduled presentation time.
