Ir. Dr. Mohamad Niizar Bin Abdulrahman

Senior Civil Engineer (Slope Engineering Branch) , Malaysia Public Works Department (JKR)

Ir. Dr. Mohamad Niizar Bin Abdulrahman is a Senior Civil Engineer with the Slope Engineering Branch of the Malaysian Public Works Department (JKR). A graduate of Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, he brings extensive expertise in geotechnical and slope engineering. In his current role, Ir. Dr. Niizar plays a pivotal part in managing, controlling, and supervising slope-related infrastructure across Malaysia. The Slope Engineering Branch is tasked with the full spectrum of slope management, including design works, forensic investigations, preventive maintenance, technical advisory, research and development, and the formulation of national standards and guidelines. Over the years, Ir. Dr. Niizar has been involved in numerous high-profile projects such as the slope rectification initiative in Bawong, Sungai Siput (Perak), the investigation of slope failure at Pos Musoh in Batang Padang District, and mitigation works along FT185 Jalan Simpang Pulai – Blue Valley. His work has contributed significantly to improving slope stability and public safety, especially in landslide-prone areas. With a strong commitment to engineering excellence and public service, Ir. Dr. Niizar continues to lead efforts in enhancing slope resilience throughout Malaysia.

Ir. Ts. Gs. Dr. Mohd Rashid Bin Mohd Radzi

Principal Engineer (Technical) , TNB Power Generation Sdn Bhd

Ir. Ts. Gs. Dr. Mohd Rashid Bin Mohd Radzi is the Principal Engineer (Technical) at TNB Power Generation Sdn Bhd, bringing a wealth of expertise in hydropower engineering and dam management. He holds a Master’s degree from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and a Ph.D. from Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN). In his role at TNB, Ir. Dr. Mohd Rashid assists the Head of Planning & Feasibility Study in overseeing major hydroelectric projects such as Ulu Jelai, Hulu Terengganu, Chenderoh Unit 5, and various mini hydro developments. He plays a key role in TNB’s hydro civil operations, encompassing maintenance, engineering, and comprehensive life cycle management. His responsibilities include leading feasibility studies and engineering work related to civil, hydrology, hydropower systems, and green technology. He is also tasked with performing detailed hydrological analyses, including power and energy studies crucial for hydroelectric planning and optimization. As the designated Asset Manager for TNB’s hydropower plants, Ir. Dr. Mohd Rashid leads the dam safety management program, ensuring the structural integrity and operational safety of critical assets. He is also at the forefront of the Hydro Life Extension Programme, aimed at enhancing the performance and longevity of all TNB hydro schemes. A certified professional engineer, technologist, and geoscientist, Ir. Dr. Mohd Rashid is widely respected for his technical leadership and contributions to sustainable energy development in Malaysia.
