Sakhiah Abdul Kudus received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Civil Engineering (Structures) from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in September 2011 and May 2014, respectively. In March 2018, she completed her PhD in three years at Kyoto University in Japan, majoring in Adaptive Structural Engineering. She has been involved in non-destructive techniques (NDT), focusing on Acoustic Emission (AE) and Structural Health Monitoring since 2010. Since April 2019, she has worked as a Senior Lecturer at the School of Civil Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in Malaysia. She was appointed Coordinator of Research for the College of Engineering at Universiti Teknologi MARA in February 2024, a position she still holds. Currently, she is leading a collaborative project on the development of an Online Bridge Health Monitoring System under the Industrial Collaboration Program with MRCB Builders. She also actively collaborates with agencies such as JKR and KTMB for structural integrity inspections. She has published articles in international journals, conference proceedings, and policy and technical papers on various topics related to structural health monitoring, structural vibration, structural integrity, modal analysis, acoustic emission, finite element analysis, and the application of high-speed cameras for vibration monitoring. Her current research focuses on the health assessment of concrete and steel bridges in Malaysia, and she has collaborated with entities from Japan, Indonesia, and India on her research projects. She has more than five years of teaching experience and is registered as a Certified Energy Manager and as a Professional Engineer under the Board of Engineers Malaysia.
