Dr. Peter Gombera is a senior business trailblazer who leads an international team of twelve high-performing commercial property development and asset management surveyors responsible for designing and delivering the corporate real-estate strategy to support the UK-based company QinetiQ’s corporate goals and global service management. He is experienced in handling international strategic capital with effective operations of retail outlets, offices and mixed-use real estate, and establishing and guiding partnerships between public and private sectors particularly in the UK and Southeast Asia. His profile also includes aligning real-estate investment strategies for large ‘Fortune-500’ and ‘FTSE-100’ companies to achieve corporate sustainability targets.

Dr. Peter obtained PhD from the University of Derby (UK) Business School in Real Estate Investment & Management. He also acquired B.Sc. (Property Surveying & Estates Management) and M.Sc. (Construction Projects & Commercial Management) from the University of Wolverhampton (UK), MA (Total Quality & Business Process Management) from the University of Nottingham (UK), and Executive MBA from the University of Chicago (USA). He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS) and a Registered Valuer, a Member of Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (MCSI), a Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS), a Member of Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB), a member of the Chartered Institute of Association of Building Engineers (C. Build. Eng), a Member of the Association of Project Management (MAPM), a Member of the Association of Project Safety (MAPS), a Registered CDMC Coordinator, and BREEAM Assessor (Code of Sustainability for Homes and Mixed-Use Zoning).

Dr. Peter is currently involved in supporting and advising a number of leading UK Universities and NGOs involved in social and economic community regeneration, public health, education and vocational training, poverty alleviation and sustainable development programmes in Southern Africa and Asia. He is also an External Examiner and Business Advisor to the Universities of Coventry and Nottingham Trent on International Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes in Engineering and Built Environment. He simultaneously gives voluntary advice for sustainable business to a number of public and private corporations in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Prof. Dr. Ar. Abdul Malek Abdul Rahman

Prof. Dr. Ar. Abdul Malek Abdul Rahman obtained his Part 1 Bachelor Degree from South Bank Polytechnic (now South Bank University), London, UK and Part 2 from the University of Melbourne, Australia. He completed his PHD (Environment) in 1994 at the University of Wales College of Cardiff on natural ventilation in low-cost housing in tropical countries. He started his career in 1986 as a Lecturer at Universiti Sains Malaysia and as an Architect partner with Arkitek llihani. A Registered Member with The Board of Architects Malaysia (Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia) as well as an Associate Member with the Malaysia Institute of Architects (Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia).

Prof. Dr. Ar. Abdul Malek Abdul Rahman has done notable research in the areas of Integrated Energy Building Design, Green Building Index, and Passive Solar Design Elements. He has published papers in many international and national academic journals and written books and articles related to these areas. In addition, he has patented two design products and received three national academic awards, and has been invited by universities and other organisations as a keynote or guest speaker at many local and international seminars and conferences.
