If Dr. Yvonne were to describe her career in one line, she would say it has always been about good science and meaningful engagement regardless of stakeholders. Since her early career venture into a regulatory pharmacy (a choice only appealing to few back then), she has always prided herself in being different, not only as an individual but also at work. Dr. Yvonne considers herself a proud product of the Ministry of Health, Malaysia, as one of its youngest recipients of an overseas scholarship to study for PhD at the Pharmacology Department, University of Cambridge and an alumnus of its prestigious Talent Grooming Programme (TGP). At her departure from NPRA, she looked after half of its regulatory functions, i.e. new product registration, clinical trial & investigational product regulation, and product testing development & validation. In her new role representing Philip Morris International (PMI), she supports the company’s transformation towards a smoke-free future by communicating scientific updates on tobacco harm reduction to fellow healthcare professionals and scientists.
