Dr Abdul Razak Bin Abdul Muttalif

Dr Razak obtained his medical qualification in 1982 from the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Subsequently, he acquired his master in internal medicine and master degree in respiratory medicine from the Royal Brompton Hospital, London, United Kingdom, in 1995. During his distinguished career, Dr Razak has been an invited speaker at numerous symposia, continuing medical education programmed and conferences across Malaysia. He has delivered more than one hundred lectures on various topics, including asthma, tuberculosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and pulmonary embolism. Dr Razak headed the medical team for the Haj mission for 20 years. A keen researcher, Dr Razak has presented several papers at national and international conferences. His work has also appeared in numerous international and Malaysian journals including the New England Journal of Medicine, Chest, Respirology, Journal of Public Health, and Malaysian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences. He had participated actively in several clinical trials and epidemiological studies. After serving the Ministry of Health, Malaysia for 35 years, he joined MAHSA University in 2017 as lecturer and Professor of Medicine.

Dr. Mahendran Sekar is currently working as an Associate Professor at the School of Pharmacy, Monash University Malaysia. With extensive experience in academia and research, he has made significant contributions to drug discovery, natural product development, and green technology innovations. Dr. Mahendran has received numerous national and international accolades for his outstanding work in academic, research, and innovation. Notably, he was honored with the Anugerah Pendidik Cemerlang MARA 2018, recognizing his excellence in education. His innovative research has earned him gold medals for three consecutive years at the International Invention Innovation & Technology Exhibition (ITEX 2017, 2018, 2019). His research expertise lies in drug discovery and natural product-based therapeutics, particularly focusing on eco-friendly and sustainable approaches in pharmaceutical development. Throughout his career, Dr. Mahendran has successfully supervised over 25 undergraduate and 10 postgraduate students, guiding them in cutting-edge research. A prolific researcher, he has published over 175 articles in ISI and SCOPUS-indexed journals and actively contributes as a reviewer for leading international scientific journals. His work continues to drive advancements in pharmaceutical sciences, fostering innovation in drug formulation, bioactive compounds, and therapeutic development. Dr. Abdul Ali bin Raja Mohamed has over 40 years of varied and wide experience in Clinical Trauma and Emergency Medicine specialist care including Paramedic Science and Disaster Medicine. He was formerly the Head of Trauma & Emergency Department for 24 years at the University Malaya Medical Centre, University Malaya (UM), Kuala Lumpur, which is the premier national teaching institution and national referral centre, with the modern state-of-art Emergency Centre of which he had the honour of designing and developing. Since 1989, he has been actively involved in the development and teaching the MBBS undergraduate Emergency Medicine Programme at the Faculty of Medicine, UM and MAHSA University. He initiated and developed the Masters of Emergency Medicine Programme in 2005. He has for many years been voted and elected as the best clinical lecturer by the medical students of University Malaya. He had assisted in developing the Advanced Emergency Nursing program in UM and many other Resuscitation, Trauma and EMS programmes for many organizations. He had developed the Major Hospital Disaster Management Plan which has been successfully tested in the International Airports and numerous Disasters and Multi-Casualty Incidences in the Klang Valley, past 30 years. He is a co-author of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) manuals and journal articles, and a presenter at many Universities, States, National and International EMS Conferences. He had assisted in developing various CPR Courses, Advanced Trauma Resuscitation Courses, Disaster Management (in Aceh Tsunami, Langkawi International Maritime and Aviation Disaster Plan, Kuala Lumpur International Airport Disaster Plan), Disaster Psychosocial Support Programme (IFRC, Malaysian Red Crescent) and EMS Programmes for various EMS Agencies in the country including the Department of Civil Defense Malaysia and BOMBA Malaysia. Since 2008 he had pioneered, created and developed the first Diploma in Paramedic Sciences program for Prehospital Care in the country. This program is approved by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency, the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, and the Ministry of Health. He is also the accredited AHA ECC BLS and AHA ECC ACLS Instructor and a HRDF Trainer-the-Trainer. He is a faculty member at the Emergency Disaster Global Health Sciences affiliated fellowship program on Disaster Management. He is a member of the National Executive Board of the Malaysian Red Crescent, and elected as the National Vice-Chairman and also elected as the Deputy Chairman of the Malaysian Red Crescent Selangor. He was awarded the PSK and PPL. He is a member of Malaysian Qualifications Agency Assessor Panel. He is an international member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, and other EMS Organizations. He is privileged to have observed many EMS Systems and Emergency Leaders around the world. He is the Past-President and member of the Board of Governors of the MedicAlert Foundation Malaysia (Non-profit Organization) which is involved in saving lives. He was awarded and honored by His Royal Highness DYMM Sultan of Selangor with A.S.A. – Darjah Kebesaran Ahli Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, for excellence in service.
Ts . Dr. Mardhiyati binti Mohd Yunus

Ts. Dr. Mardhiyati binti Mohd Yunus defended her groundbreaking doctoral thesis on radiomics and machine learning applications in Coronary Computed Tomography Angiography (CCTA) at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in August 2023. Her innovative research led to the creation of the Computed Tomography Artificial Intelligence Detection for Atherosclerosis (CTAID-A) tool, an automated machine learning tool for detecting atherosclerosis. This achievement earned her the highest honours, including the Best Thesis Grade and timely graduation. Her novel approach to integrating artificial intelligence in medical imaging not only won her the Gold Medal Award at the MTE International Innovation Award 2023 but also garnered the prestigious Anugerah Inovasi Negeri Selangor Gold Award in 2024 and Gold Award in International Innovation Competition (INNOMed) in 2024. In her educational journey, Ts. Dr. Mardhiyati demonstrated exceptional academic prowess, completing her Master in Medical Imaging with a specialization in Breast Imaging from UiTM, earning a Dean’s Award with a GPA of 3.92. Her undergraduate studies in Diagnostic Imaging and Radiotherapy at the National University of Malaysia (UKM) were equally distinguished and marked by consistent academic excellence. As a lecturer at UNISEL since March 2018, MAHSA University since 2012 and 4 years of experience as a diagnostic radiographer in private hospitals since 2009 Ts. Dr. Mardhiyati has led the Medical Imaging Program (2019-2023), Coordinator for Centre of Research, Innovation and Industrial Linkage (CRIL) UNISEL, orchestrating curriculum development, research, innovation and fostering research collaborations. Her teaching repertoire spans various subjects, including Radiographic Anatomy, Pathology, and Image Processing, reflecting her deep expertise and commitment to education. Ts. Dr. Mardhiyati’s research portfolio includes being the principal investigator for several grants and authoring numerous indexed publications including Book. Her work has consistently been recognized at international conferences, winning Best Paper, Poster, and Presenter awards. Her intellectual property, including the CTAID-A model, is a testament to her dedication to advancing medical imaging through technological innovation. Ts. Associate Professor Sharon moved to Malaysia from the United Kingdom in 2011. Since joining MAHSA University in 2015 she has been working in the Dept. of Psychiatry where she has been involved in developing the psychology teaching in the department for MBBS clinical years 4 & 5. She is currently the head of department, a post which she has held since March 2020. Associate Prof Sharon’s teaching career spans 20 years where aside from her teaching in Malaysia she has also held several teaching posts in the UK where she taught psychology and health psychology to undergraduate and postgraduate students. She previously worked for the UK National Health Service (NHS) as a Health Improvement Specialist in Tobacco Control and Smoking Cessation. During this role she was involved in helping to implement the UK government’s no smoking in public places policy which came into force in 2007. Another key part of her role in the NHS was the training of health professionals in the principles of behaviour change and smoking cessation. Associate Prof Sharon is currently Principal investigator on a Tobacco Harm Reduction Research Project in Malaysia. In addition, she has recently been appointed as a research collaborator for a substance abuse prevention project in Sabah, which is a multi-center study that involves working with a team of academics from Malaysian Universities both government and private. The 3-year project involves collaboration with medical doctors, academics, and other health professionals. In addition to her teaching and research duties, Associate Professor Sharon is involved with clinical work in MAHSA Avenue Specialist Clinic and MAHSA Specialist Hospital where she treats patients with mental disorders and addiction

With over a decade of experience in vaccine clinical trials, including active involvement in Phase I studies, she possesses extensive knowledge in clinical research design and translational medicine.Her doctoral research in Pharmacogenomics explores Metformin's dual modulation of the NLRP3 inflammasome and mitophagy in colon cancer. By integrating network pharmacology, molecular docking, and bioinformatics, her innovative work elucidates Metformin's anticancer mechanisms in diabetes-induced colon cancer, with promising applications for personalized treatment based on genomic expression profiles.Dr. Raja completed her undergraduate education at the esteemed Madras Medical College.
