Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and IT, MAHSA University, Malaysia

DHe is currently working as a Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and IT at MAHSA University, Malaysia since Jan 2020. In addition to his deanery tasks, he was assigned as a director of TMC Department for developing Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) based programmes and also Micro-Credentials programmes which is developing new approach for Education Industry. His academic training and experience working as a Civil/Geotechnical Engineer has been started since 2001. He is an active member of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), Malaysian Board of Technologist and Iranian Organization for Engineering Order of Building. He has achieved his first degree in Civil Engineering at University of Estahban, Shiraz, Iran. His Master’s education was conducted under the direction of Prof. Dr. Nazri Bin Ali at University Technology of Malaysia (UTM) - the Leading Engineering Based University in Malaysia - and looked at the Effects of Vegetation on Slope Stabilization. His PhD’s dissertation was supervised by Professor Claudio di Prisco, Professor Andrea Galli and Professor Francesco Calvetti at Politecnico di Milano (University Technology of Milan, Italy) in the research field of Soil-Foundation Interaction and he was awarded a PhD scholarship to conduct his studies. During the course of his research he worked in the geotechnics laboratories and that made him familiar with different equipment available there. Also, the main part of his project was dealing with distinguished geotechnical software such as Oasys, Plaxis, GeoStudio, Slip4EX, as well as Distinct Element Method (DEM) software such as PFC3D. His main research area is on Slope stabilization by using vegetation as part of new approach to green tech, soil stabilization, soil-foundation interaction and he has published several academic papers in these areas. Furthermore, as his current task on leading academic organization as a dean and developing new programmes, he is highly skilled in Outcome Based Education (OBE) training, developing curriculum based on OBE, design assessments and measuring Course Learning Outcome (CLO) and Programme Learning Outcome (PLO) attainments based on OBE, which ensure consistent quality standards in curriculum development that meet the needs of high standard programmes as per the modern academic industry demands.
