Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Nizam bin Lani

Faculty of Fisheries and Food Science, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, 21030 Kuala Nerus, Terengganu.

With over 17 years of experience in teaching and research in food microbiology. Associate Professor Dr Mohd Nizam has made significant contributions through numerous research grants and publications in national and international academic journals. Currently Associate Professor Dr Mohd Nizam serving as the Deputy Chairman of the Institutional Biosafety and Biosecurity Committee (IBBC) at UMT. He plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and responsible conduct of biological research. At IBBC, Associate Professor Dr Mohd Nizam leads risk assessment and management related to biological agents and procedures, develops and enforces biosafety policies, and reviews research protocols to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Additionally, he oversees laboratory safety, conducts training programs, and spearheads emergency preparedness initiatives. Through his leadership, Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Nizam fosters a strong culture of responsibility within the institution, safeguarding researchers, the public, and the envinronment while driving advancements in biological sciences.

Associate Professor Dr. Jayakumar A/L Murthy

Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

Associate Professor Dr. Jayakumar, based at the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Associate Professor Dr. Jayakumar graduated with a first-class honors degree in Biomedical Science (UPM) and earned a PhD in neuroscience (USM), specializing in addition. With 87 articles, 69 in Q1/Q2 journals, he’s presented at 46 confereces and featured in 40+ national and international events, including TV and radio appearances as a speaker. His accolades include Young Investigator Awards from the Asian Pacific Society of Neurochemistry and Faculty of Medicine UKM, Young Teacher's Award from the Malaysian Society of Pharmacology and Physiology, Committee for Aid and Education in Neurochemistry (CAEN) award from International Society of Neurochemistry, among others. Cumulatively he has received research grants worth more than RM 2.0 million from various grant providers at faculty, university, national, international and industrial levels. He's supervised postgraduates and undergraduates and chaired numerous neuroscience initiatives at national and international levels.
