CONFERENCE THEME - "Towards new dimensions on hospitality"

OBJECTIVES

To provide a platform for researchers, academicians and practitioners from all over the world to present their research results in hospitality, culinary arts, and tourism.

To integrate knowledge and expand the current practice of hospitality, culinary arts, and tourism to find innovative solutions.

To establish networking and collaboration with other universities and industry experts.

SCOPE

The scope of the conference is to encourage research and innovative ideas in the areas of hospitality, culinary arts, and tourism. The ideas should align with the needs of the society and demands from the industry amid the challenges of the post pandemic new norm and in the wake of sustainable development goals.

 

All registered and presented papers will be published in the journal titled "MAHSA International Journal of Business and Social Sciences (MJBSS)".

GUEST SPEAKER

Mr. Hanley Chew is no stranger to the hospitality industry. He started his career in a travel agency and later went on to an airline company, providing him with the opportunity to travel vastly and amass invaluable experiences. In addition, the nature of the travel industry gave him a prior glimpse into the world of hoteliers. After a brief venture into a hotel reservation business, Hanley joined the Renaissance and Marriott Hotel Groups. In the ensuing years, his global experience was expanded with postings in Sandakan, Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur, Bali, Myanmar, Vietnam, Shandong and Guangzhou in China. He joined the Sunway Group in year 2000 under its hospitality arm, overseeing the management and expansion of the Sunway, Allson and The Banjaran brands in Southeast Asia, China, India and the Middle East. He was CEO for Sunway International Hotels & Resorts, Sunway International Vacation Club, Sunway Healthy Lifestyle and Sunway Travel. After his stint as the CEO of Destination Resorts and Hotels Sdn Bhd, the leisure and travel arm of Khazanah Nasional Bhd, he founded Hotel Integrations Sdn Bhd, a hotel consultancy company. He later joined Berjaya Hotels and Resorts, a Malaysian based hotel group with a portfolio of 20 hotels operating in 7 countries as CEO. Hanley recently headed the hospitality arm of Vietnam’s largest conglomerate, Vingroup, operating 47 Vinpearl Hotels all across Vietnam. He founded JustTonite in 2020, in the height of Covid-19 pandemic to assist the hotel industry manage its daily excess room inventories. Hanley is also an author of award-winning books. His first book, HOTEL TALES was a huge success. The book won first prize in the 2012 Readers’ Choice Awards. Winning the award motivated him to publish his second edition, MORE HOTEL TALES that won him 2nd placing in the 2014 Readers’ Choice Awards. He has just recently launched his third book, EVEN MORE HOTEL TALES and he hopes for more books to come
